How do I build one?
To develop a Travel Plan your organisation will work through the following process:
- Secure senior management support
- Identify roles and responsibilities
- Undertake a site assessment, including company policy
- Undertake a survey of people using the site, employees, visitors, students, etc.
- Undertake travel audits
- Identify objectives, targets and indicators
- Action Plan
- Identify measures
- Monitor and evaluate
Throughout the process there should be awareness raising and marketing of the Travel Plan. For this process to be effective it must be tailored to the unique characteristics of each organisation. It should also be noted that the Travel Plan is a dynamic document and should be regularly revisited to address changes in the organisation and the environment around it.
